I was born in Switzerland and basically grew up in my father’s wood shop. Thus began my lifelong relationship with sawdust and tools. I started playing guitars when I was 12. Since then the instrument has defined my life. After receiving a degree in music, I became a professional guitarist and teacher.
My travels brought me to California in the late 70’s where I met guitar maker, Kenny Hill. We struck up a friendship that remains to this day. I worked with Kenny off-and-on for a number of years before I set up shop on my own.
Over the years my experience with traditional building and experimentation with new technology led me to design my version of a guitar with lattice reinforced bracing.
The first results were promising. Before long I was able to create instruments that were more powerful and responsive than traditionally built guitars. They also had better sustain while retaining the beauty and color of the traditional sound.
